April 26–May 17, 2026 – Portrait: The Self in the Image – Künstlerform Bonn – Bonn
The theme says it all! Thanks to this group exhibition, I am delighted to have gotten to know and portrayed four fascinating individuals: Katja Dörner, Dr. Silke Britzen, Kim Kluge, and Andreas Rein. The felting technique and 3D printing proved to be excellent methods for creating these portraits.
Katja Dörner, merino wool and PLA filament, 2026, 90 x 90 cm
Kim Kluge, merino wool and PLA filament, 2026, 45 x 45 cm
Dr. Silke Britzen, merino wool and PLA filament, 2026, 45 x 45 cm
Andreas Rein, merino wool and PLA filament, 2026, 45 x 45 cm
I feel honored to have been portrayed by Kim Kluge. Her intricate drawings and felt works never cease to fascinate me. They radiate a sense of lightness and carefree joy.
About the Exhibition:
Portrait – The Self in the Image
The group exhibition by the Bonn Artists’ Group and the JETZT Artists’ Group will be on view from April 26 to May 17, 2026, at the Künstlerforum, Hochstadenring 22, 53119 Bonn.
Artistic portraits typically respond to the flood of images in our digital present with critical distance and playful irony. Countless cheap ways to create countless images on the internet at the touch of a button lead to the realization that perception is not a fixed quantity. It depends on perspective, knowledge, and context. In this game of deception with digital identities, the question arises: who has the power to shape images of the other or of the self in a meaningful way?
