Frauen.Macht.Wandel. – Viernheim

FEBRUARY 6 – APRIL 12, 2026

Group exhibition

Vernissage: Friday, February 6, 2026, 5 pm

Cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Office and Youth Services of the City of Viernheim and the Women’s Museum Bonn

The history of the German women’s movement is the subject of a special exhibition organized by the Viernheim Museum in cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Office and Youth Services of the City of Viernheim. Around International Women’s Day 2026, it examines women’s rights, focusing on political developments in the 19th and 20th centuries. The exhibition’s timing deliberately coincides with the Hessian local elections. This gives women’s suffrage additional attention, as it is—historically speaking—a relatively recent development.

The exhibition is on loan from the Women’s Museum Bonn. The historical context is presented through artworks created specifically for this theme.
